Eye-catching Style and Fun-to-Drive Performance - Get to Know the 2019 Mazda CX-5 in Fairhaven

The Mazda CX-5 has been a hot model in the Alden Mazda new inventory ever since it first debuted several years ago. Now, with the release of the 2019 version, Mazda has proven yet again that they're willing to go above and beyond to give drivers what they really want. The new, 2019 Mazda CX-5 in the Dartmouth and Plymouth area gives you additional trims to choose from, a second engine option, and new features. But, it keeps the signature style, grace, and exciting personality that have gained it legions of loyal fans the last few years.

What's New for the 2019 Mazda CX-5?

As mentioned, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 introduces several updates and upgrades, without losing the characteristics and traits that have long made this model such a draw for drivers in the South Coast region. Some of the key changes that are making headlines include:

  • Two new upper-level trims added to the lineup, called the 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve and the 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature
  • A more-powerful engine added as standard equipment for the new trim levels
  • New availability of luxury amenities, such as ventilated seats and a surround-view parking camera system

The Mazda CX-5 is designed and engineered to impress, and it succeeds very well. On the outside, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 stands tall, with an elevated ground clearance that manages to raise your view of the road without being difficult to get into or feeling too big and awkward to drive. It has a long hood and prominent grille, highlighted by bright headlights that help you see the world in a different light.

On the inside, the Mazda CX-5 features a luxury-level design that feels and looks much more expensive than it is. High-end materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and an intuitive instrument layout make this model comfortable and easy to operate.

Keeping in line with the Mazda tradition of offering performance and an exciting ride, the Mazda CX-5 has always been fun to drive. Now, the second engine option is doubling your fun.

Choose any of the already-existing trim levels, and your SUV will come equipped with an impressive, 187-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 186 pound-feet of torque. Or, opt for the new, exciting trims, and get a standard, turbocharged version of the same engine with 310 pound-feet of torque. Depending on which type of fuel you choose to put in your tank, this new engine can give you either 227 horsepower or 250 horsepower.

Regardless of which trim or engine you prefer, however, expect a six-speed automatic transmission standard on both. Also standard on both engines is a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, which can help you transport your family's popup camper or a small work trailer.

Sport Mode causes greater fuel consumption but delivers a lively and engaging driving experience.

In general, more power comes at the expense of more fuel. However, Mazda believes that fuel efficiency and performance shouldn't be mutually exclusive. Through Mazda's SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, Mazda engineers have finely tuned every aspect of the CX-5; from chassis and body construction to advanced engine technology. It's what allows Mazda vehicles to deliver high levels of performance and solid EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings.

SKYACTIV engines feature higher compression ratios than a typical engine, allowing for more power output from less fuel. SKYACTIV transmissions provide smooth and precise shifts, for enhanced responsiveness and efficiency. Through the SKYACTIV platform, Mazda models are meticulously designed, and constructed with lighter, high tensile-strength steel. Stiffer and stronger chassis deliver nimble handling and high-speed stability.

What is i-Activsense in the Mazda CX-5?

Mazda's i-Activsense is a suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. Nothing can take the place of attentive driving, but these features provide Fall River and Dartmouth drivers with an extra degree of security for their daily journeys. Mazda i-Activsense technology highlights include:

  • Adaptive Front-Lighting System: Provides greater illumination around corners
  • High-Beam Control: Raises and lowers high beams automatically to account for oncoming and leading traffic
  • Lane Keep Assist System: Provides subtle steering assistance to help the vehicle stay centered in the lane.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring: Detects and alerts the driver to vehicles in the blind spots.
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control: Using radar technology, this system automatically maintains a preset distance from leading vehicles.
  • Rear Vehicle Monitoring System: This system monitors for vehicles approaching quickly from the rear and warns the driver if there is danger of a collision when changing lanes.
  • Driver Attention Alert: Driver fatigue is one of the leading causes of highway accidents. The Driver Attention Alert system monitors for signs that the driver may be losing concentration and alerts them with an audible and visual cue.
  • Forward Obstruction Warning: Uses radar to monitor objects in front of the vehicle. It gives audible and visual cues to alert the driver if there is risk of a collision.
  • Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD): Brake assist applies optimal braking force if the driver's braking pressure is insufficient to avoid an imminent collision. EBD optimally adjusts braking force to account for how weight in the vehicle is distributed.
