Mazda CX-50 Exterior Features

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 will come standard with all-wheel drive configuration, making it easy to drive over rough terrain or through inclement weather. You’ll get two engines to choose from: a standard and turbocharged 2.5L SkyActiv-G® 4-cylinder. The standard engine delivers 186 horsepower and the turbocharged variant offers 250 horsepower. There is also the possibility of a hybrid engine in the future, but the 4-cylinder options are the only ones being mentioned right now. No matter the engine you choose, the Mazda CX-50 is equipped with a powerful six-speed automatic transmission.

There will be four available drive modes that come standard on the Mazda CX-50, and Mazda Intelligent Drive Select makes it easy to switch! Depending on driving conditions, you can choose between Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing modes. Mazda has designed the Mi-Drive Select to make each driving mode feel consistent, so you can switch between modes seamlessly without changing up your driving habits!

Mazda CX-50 Interior & Safety Features

Inside the cabin, the new Mazda CX-50 can comfortably seat five passengers across two rows of seats, with plenty of cargo space to match. Its crossover SUV frame means you get the spacious interior of an SUV while still being easy to navigate around Dartmouth and beyond.

The cabin features an 8.8-inch digital infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. Although Mazda hasn’t released details on the technology inside the cabin, the similar Mazda CX-5 offers features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, remote start/stop, premium audio, and integration with the MyMazda app. It’s likely that the upcoming Mazda CX-50 will share many of these features, and potentially even more.

Likewise, we don’t have specific details about the safety suite found inside the Mazda CX-50, but it’s likely that it will follow the same safety blueprint that Mazda uses for their current lineup of vehicles. This includes three tiers of features:

• Basic Safety: Everything from the shape of the gas pedal to the angle of the driver’s seat is designed to keep you as safe, informed, and in-control when you’re behind the wheel of a Mazda.
• Preventive Safety: These are the most “visible” safety features, including Blind Spot Monitoring, Cross Traffic Alert, Radar Cruise Control, and Adaptive LED Headlights.
• Collision Safety: These features are designed to keep you safe and protected in the unavoidable event of a crash, including SkyActiv® Body Vehicle Architecture, multiple airbags, and energy-absorbing interior features.
